Non-profits have unique marketing and communications needs most often revolving around donor relations and fundraising. Despite there being a monetary component, non-profits operate very differently than for-profit enterprises. Approaching supporters and donors with a mission-based message takes sensitivity and finesse.  Over the years I have served on non-profit boards, worked for non-profit organizations and worked with my non-profit clients to help them reach their organizational goals.

My non-profit clients engage with me for services including:

  • Fundraising appeal mailings, including strategy, budgeting, list development, copywriting, creative direction, mail production and reporting
  • Social media strategy and content
  • Email marketing
  • Google Ads, including Google Grants for Non-Profits
  • Public relations including crisis communications
  • Advertising and media planning

Case Study

Appalachian Mountain Club

The non-profit AMC launched a donor-supported concert series in summer 2021. They had goals for concert attendance for year one, but not a lot of time or experience in managing or promoting a concert series. They were referred to Kathy Bennett Marketing to pull together a paid advertising plan, media outreach list, and press releases to drive concert registrations.

Working with their in-house staff, I coordinated with their team and their development director to ensure the donor expectations were met and that the concert series was a success. The result was a successful launch of the first year of the series, with year two in 2022 already in planning.

Testimonial

“Kathy worked with our in-house team to quickly pull together a PR and media plan for a new summer concert series. Her knowledge of the local and regional media landscape helped us reach our attendance goals for the events.”
